A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE

at

NUNEATON Moviemakers

The first meeting this year is on

Thursday 8th January, please note the date.

Now that you have tried out all those new HD cameras that Santa brought, may I remind you that the next Club meeting is this Thursday on 8th Jan (not 4th as in some programme cards) at Higham Lane School.

The evening will take two parts, similar to previous years, but for new members I will clarify:

The first part of the meeting is the the Special General Meeting, held to elect the Club Programme Secretary for NEXT season (2009/10).  There are only two agenda items
1. Apologies for absence

2. Election of Programme Secretary for 2009/2010

The meeting is scheduled for 7-45pm and usually takes only a few minutes, so that by 8pm we can start on the Bring and Buy Sale.
This is a fun evening to raise money for Club funds.  The idea is that members bring along items to sell and they are auctioned to members.  Spouses, partners, friends are very welcome.

Items brought are not just movie items but can be anything, from a pot of jam to - well anything.

There are several ways that items can be sold-

- The most common for small items is for the member to donate the item and all money goes to the Club funds.  Items not otherwise marked are assumed thus.
- More costly items can be sold "on commission" with 10% going to club funds and 90% to the seller.  Mark your item so that the "auctioneer" knows what is happening.  You can put a reserve on your item if you wish (remember, when working this out that you would get 90% of this as a minimum)
- Occasionally members sell large items on other arrangements such as "anything over £5 goes to Club funds" etc.  Make sure the "auctioneer" knows what you want.

Finally, bring some money along for a fun night on Thursday.

Cemriac Annual Movie Festival
